A few updates from Mano a Mano for the month of July 2025:

Daily Work, Daily Challenges: July 2025 Video Series

Although there are always challenges in Mano a Mano’s work, 2025 has been particularly difficult; in this 6-part series on Youtube, we chat with some of our staff in Bolivia about what goes into their daily work across a variety of Mano a Mano projects and programs, and we are grateful for their commitment and ability to keep moving forward as Mano a Mano. Here is one of the six videos on the challenges of getting fuel in Bolivia:

Vilaque Clinic is 60%+ Complete

Our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Bolivia is more than 60% complete on the new clinic project in Vilaque! The project is expected to be completed in September, and is one of a handful of Mano a Mano Bolivia clinics and schools in progress with communities. Learn more about the Vilaque clinic here.

Leadership Transition Update

We continue to welcome and onboard our new Executive Director Matt Hartranft ([email protected]), who started in May, and are happy to have Nate Knatterud-Hubinger ([email protected]) starting in his new role as Director of Partnerships and Strategy in July! We are grateful to all of our staff, Board members, volunteers, and supporters across 5 counterpart organizations; everything we do is a partnership.

Distributing Supplies & Equipment to 35 Health Organizations from 6 Departments Throughout Bolivia

Our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Internacional hosted a distribution event at our El Abra, Cochabamba warehouse on July 16th, 2025. 35 health centers from 6 departments throughout Bolivia traveled to Mano a Mano to receive supplies and equipment to support their programs. All of these items are shipped from Minnesota; there are 4 containers with 100,000+ pounds currently on their way.

Weekend Health Clinic in El Palmar – San Borja (July 11-12, 2025)

Our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Aviation provided a weekend health clinic (jornada) on July 11-12 in El Palmar – San Borja. This was Mano a Mano’s first time working in this community on a jornada. Over the course of 2 days, 3 volunteer doctors saw 84 patients, and 3 volunteer dentists saw 47 patients to provide 55 dental procedures. 8 ultrasounds were taken as part of patient care, made possible by the availability of mobile POCUS units as part of Mano a Mano’s equipment. While transporting volunteer medical professionals to provide care, Mano a Mano flights also include the transport of medical supplies and equipment, both for use during the jornadas and also for donation and distribution in the communities.

Distributing Supplies and Equipment for 22 Healthcare Organizations Throughout Bolivia (July 1, 2025)

On July 1st, our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Internacional donated more than 3 tons (7,165 pounds) of medical supplies and equipment to 22 health centers from throughout Bolivia. All of these supplies were sent from Minnesota, and more supplies are on their way.

Reached Final Depth on Qhochi Kasa Water Well

Earlier this month, we shared that our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Nuevo Mundo had reached a depth of 102 meters (335 feet) on our water well being drilled in partnership with the community of Qhochi Kasa. We have now completed the well (with some finalizing work still to go), and our heavy equipment arrived back to our El Abra warehouse (take a tour of El Abra on Youtube) last week for some maintenance, before heading back out for our next water well project in the municipality of Arbieto.

Making Progress on Mano a Mano Airport

Our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Nuevo Mundo is continuing the daily work on the Mano a Mano airport in Punata.

Daily Activities at Mano a Mano Internacional

Our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Internacional hosts student groups, interns, and farmers for training workshops onsite at Mano a Mano and off-site in their communities on programs ranging from agronomy to maximizing water to physical therapy.
