Privacy Policy

Our Promise to you:

Mano a Mano takes seriously its reputation to protect its donors’ and interested parties’ personal information.  This is why Mano a Mano will not sell, trade or share personal information about our volunteers, donors, or members with any individual or organization outside of Mano a Mano. The following is a more detailed description of the privacy policies Mano a Mano has established to protect your personal information.

Non-Personal Information Collected and Stored Automatically

If you do nothing during your visit but browse Mano a Mano’s website or download information, Mano a Mano will only gather and store nominal information that does not identify you personally. Only the following is collected:

  1. The Internet domain (for example, “company.com” if you use a private Internet access account, or “publicaccess.gov” if you connect from a public domain) and IP address (an IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web) from which you access our website;
  2. The type of browser and operating system used to access our site;
  3. The date and time you access our site;
  4. The pages you visit; and
  5. The language Mano a Mano’s website was viewed in.

This information is used to help Mano a Mano provide a more user-friendly experience for our site’s visitors. You volunteer the only other personal information that Mano a Mano collects.  Mano a Mano does collect the personal data that you volunteer on request for information, registration volunteer forms, other forms, or by email.

Personal Information We Collect

There are three ways in which we collect personal information from visitors on our Web site:

  1. From persons requesting a representative of Mano a Mano contact them;
  2. a request for additional information or materials from our organization; and
  3. from our online donations.

The online information that we collect may include name, address, city, state, zip, telephone number, e-mail address, and, in the case of online giving, credit card number and expiration date.

How the Information is Used

We may use your personal data to fulfill your request for additional information, issue you an income tax receipt for a donation, or to email you our opt-in newsletter. If you elect to sign up for our newsletter, we always provide you the option to unsubscribe from the emails. If you have provided your mailing address, we may send you invitations in the mail to Mano a Mano events, newsletters, and invitations to participate in giving campaigns throughout the year. These occur sporadically throughout the year but we will keep the mailing to a reasonable volume (never more than 3-5 in a year). You can always request to be removed from our mailing list (just contact us).

Credit card information is only used for donation or payment processing and is not retained for any other purpose. For any credit card payment information that is submitted via paper copy, Mano a Mano shreds this information once it is entered into our accounting system (we never retain credit card information).

No Sharing of Personal Information

Mano a Mano never sells, rents, leases, or exchanges your personal information with other organizations. Use of personal information will be limited to the internal purposes of Mano a Mano and only to further our organization’s activities and purposes. Furthermore, we will not send you donor mailings on behalf of other organizations.

Security

Mano a Mano’s online donation software uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to keep donors’ personal information and credit card information secure. The secure environment is indicated on the browser with the display of a lock or key on the browser status bar. Always keep in mind that Mano a Mano will never ask you for credit card information other than when making an online donation. We appreciate donations we don’t demand them! This means that you should only include credit card information when giving donations via verified donation sites that Mano a Mano uses like GiveMN and Razoo here.

Any contact information that you voluntarily provide is collected and stored by Mano a Mano in password-protected and secure databases that are never shared publicly.
