Yesterday (July 1st, 2025), our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Internacional donated more than 3 tons (7,165 pounds) of medical supplies and equipment to 22 health centers from throughout Bolivia.

Benefiting Municipalities included: Guarayos, El Torno, Warnes (department of Santa Cruz); Coroico and Chulumani (department of La Paz); Macharetí and San Lucas (department of Chuquisaca); Salinas, Santiago de Huari, Esmeralda (department of Oruro); Villa Tunari, Bolívar, Cercado (department of Cochabamba).

Donated supplies and equipment included: surgical supplies, maternal-infant supplies, diagnostic and monitoring equipment, physical therapy supplies, wheelchairs, crutches, and walkers.

The distribution event was held at Mano a Mano’s site in El Abra, Cochabamba, Bolivia. It was a 10-hour drive for some recipients like Esmeralda to travel to Cochabamba for supplies. All of these items distributed by Mano a Mano in Bolivia start out as donations to Mano a Mano in Minnesota. Most of these items were destined for the landfill in Minnesota; instead they get put to good use in Bolivia, where they are often unavailable or cost-prohibitive.

In Minnesota, we just finished loading 4 containers with 100,000+ pounds of supplies in late June that are now on their way to Bolivia. Once they arrive at Mano a Mano’s offices in Cochabamba, they will be distributed to people and organizations throughout Bolivia, like yesterday.
