Our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Aviation provided a weekend health clinic (jornada) on July 11-12 in El Palmar – San Borja. This was Mano a Mano’s first time working in this community on a jornada. Over the course of 2 days, 3 volunteer doctors saw 84 patients, and 3 volunteer dentists saw 47 patients to provide 55 dental procedures. 8 ultrasounds were taken as part of patient care, made possible by the availability of mobile POCUS units as part of Mano a Mano’s equipment. While transporting volunteer medical professionals to provide care, Mano a Mano flights also include the transport of medical supplies and equipment, both for use during the jornadas and also for donation and distribution in the communities.
