Mano a Mano is drilling a deep water well in Punata, Bolivia – the Punata Central No 1 well – and yesterday Mano a Mano Nuevo Mundo operators reached a depth of 96 meters (315 feet). They are 6 meters from their target depth.

Today they plan to widen the bore of the well to a 14-inch opening. Fourteen inches of bore will allow us to fill it with tons of selected gravel. This large amount of gravel will serve as a basin for retaining water and the gravel also serves as a filter. This opening is large; as our engineer said “nobody does this but Mano a Mano.”

Once this well project is complete, we will proceed to the next community we have partnered with in nearby Arani.
