Mano a Mano Co-Founder Segundo Velasquez Talks About How & Why We Started

In 2012, Mano a Mano co-founder Segundo Velasquez was 1 of 3 finalists for the Opus Prize 2012, with a $1 million award for the winner and $100,000 each to the two runners-up. At the awards ceremony at St. Catherine University, Mano a Mano won $100,000 as a runner-up! We were very proud to be one of the three finalists and to be recognized alongside two other very impressive nonprofits working in Haiti and Brasil.

As part of the awards process, Opus Prize representatives participated in due diligence tours, to visit the nominees and learn more about the organizations. The video below was made as part of their trip; in the video Segundo talks about how and why Mano a Mano was started:
