Give to the Max Day is a statewide outpouring of support for thousands of nonprofits and schools across Minnesota! The Giving Holiday is scheduled for Thursday, November 19, but you don’t have to wait to support the causes that mean the most to you. The most popular prizes, Golden Tickets, are random chance drawings. Each gift you make during Give to the Max enters you to win money for the causes you support!

Mano a Mano participates in Give to the Max because it has a chance to draw in added prize funds, and spotlights Minnesota nonprofits to potentially bring in new supporters. If you are considering a contribution, donating on our GiveMN page is a great choice; you are also welcome to donate directly on our website or send in a check – whatever works best for you and what you are most comfortable with. We appreciate your help however it comes to us!

Mano a Mano is hoping to ship one more 40-foot container with donated medical supplies and equipment from Minnesota to Bolivia in December; your support on Give to the Max will help provide people and organizations throughout Bolivia with the supplies they need, which are especially crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic.

These are pictures from our distributions of supplies throughout 2020; these distributions are made possible by the contributions of our amazing supporters. Thank you!

Mano a Mano Aviation Documentary on Amazon Prime Video

We are happy to see that a documentary made about our pilot Ivo Daniel Martinez and the Mano a Mano Aviation program is now available on Amazon Prime Video! It is one 53-minute episode (Season 2, Episode 1, “Pilot of Hope” is the Mano a Mano episode) in a series called “On The Wing” featuring pilots working in a variety of challenging conditions throughout the world. This footage was shot in 2017 and was originally released in French; it is now available in English on Amazon Prime Video as part of this series.

Since the shooting of this film, we have expanded our aviation program to now include a Cessna Caravan, which has been flying on a daily basis responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. From the series description: “Our heroes are physicians, emergency doctors, farmers and, above all, pilots. They carry on their professions in one of these territories at the ends of the earth. We discover these regions that are so difficult to access, that only the airplane can reveal, through the daily work of those who are living an adventure, in close proximity to nature.” We hope you’ll check it out! Check out the documentary trailer below:

How to Watch:

  • Log on to your Amazon Prime Video account (you must have a Prime subscription to watch)
  • Search for “On the Wing”
  • Go to Season 2, Episode 1 – “Pilot of Hope”

Mano a Mano Virtual Webinar (PDF)

In October, we hosted a webinar to discuss our work and challenges in 2020. Here is a PDF version of the presentation. This was accompanied by an hour-long talk, so some of the context is missing, but we want to share in pictures what we have been able to do in this challenging year, thanks to your support, and many others, working together.

Slide from our October presentation, which you can check out here.
