Providing Medical Supplies and Equipment for Hospital Mexico in Sacaba, Bolivia

Mano a Mano provided 1,200 lbs of medical supplies and equipment to Hospital Mexico in Sacaba, Bolivia late last week! Supplies included gloves, hospital clothing, oxygen concentrators and pumps, wound care supplies, and more.

Preparing for International Acute Care Conference with MELA and Mano a Mano Bolivia

Our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Bolivia is hosting its 15th Acute Care Conference in November! These Acute Care Conferences are in partnership with Medical Educators for Latin America (MELA) and are accredited with local Bolivian medical organizations. A nursing-focused conference will take place on November 6th and 7th in Cochabamba, and a doctor-focused conference will follow on November 8-10.


Construction of Buildings Underway at Mano a Mano Airport Project in Punata, Bolivia

Our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Nuevo Mundo broke ground on the airport terminal portion of the Mano a Mano airport project – the future home of Mano a Mano’s Aviation program in Bolivia – in Punata, Bolivia on August 28th, 2024. The runway will be paved and completed in the coming months, and construction of the hangar portion is also underway. Mano a Mano Aviation provides emergency flights, weekend health clinics, and transport of cargo to isolated Bolivian communities.


Sunflowers at the CEA

Spring has begun in Bolivia and we made our first harvest of sunflowers at the CEA!


Agronomy Workshops for Students from Instituto Tecnológico Agropecuario Industrial Tarata – ITAIT

Agronomy students from Instituto Tecnológico Agropecuario Industrial Tarata – ITAIT participated in five days of workshops at Mano a Mano’s CEA covering a variety of agricultural topics. They learned about caring for hens, caring for pigs, hydroponic lettuce, hydroponic fodder, and more.


This Week at Mano a Mano’s St. Paul Office

The past week has been busy at our St. Paul office! We were happy to host Ben Martínez, Executive Director from our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Internacional in Bolivia, in the Twin Cities, and we also had a lot of volunteers and activities throughout the week. Thanks to everyone that is a part of Mano a Mano.
