Last week there was a large fire at Laguna Alalay in Cochabamba; the fire is now under control thanks to firefighters and groups like GEOS and the local Red Cross. In one of their recent posts, Cruz Roja Boliviana – Filial Cochabamba shared some pictures of their support of the local firefighters that worked to put the fire out – you can see “Prentice” and “Chippewa” on the backs of a few of the firefighting jackets – items that were donated to Mano a Mano in Minnesota by these firefighting teams in Wisconsin.
Donating Firefighting Equipment Sent From Minnesota For Organizations in Bolivia
These supplies were included in a container shipment from Minnesota to Bolivia, and we gave firefighting supplies and equipment like these to groups like GEOS (pictured below is GEOS receiving firefighting equipment from Mano a Mano in 2019 at our warehouse) and SAR Bolivia. We are happy to be able to help save items from landfills in the US and put them to good use in Bolivia!
Here is an interview with a Bomberos Voluntarios – GEOS Bolivia volunteer at our warehouse; they regularly help sort and organize medical supplies at our Cochabamba warehouse:
