Every time that we start a new construction project it means moving our heavy equipment, which can be a slow and difficult process (on some projects we have had to build roads just to be able to get our equipment to the project site).

The equipment is being moved to Tiraque, where Mano a Mano has an agreement with the Municipality of Punata to build and improve a road. This a smaller project – the road is 3 kilometers – but it will connect communities that live on the other side of a river who are cut off during the rainy season when their current road is washed out. The river crossing is very treacherous; a mother and her child died trying to cross not too long ago. The new road will make this a safer trip in the future.
