Check out a handful of updates from the past few weeks of work across Mano a Mano’s 5 counterpart nonprofit organizations in Bolivia and Minnesota:

International Acute Care Conference with Mano a Mano Bolivia & MELA

Our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Bolivia wrapped up their Acute Care Conference with Medical Educators for Latin America last week. These Acute Care Conferences for Bolivian medical professionals are accredited with local Bolivian medical organizations; they are a critical component of Mano a Mano’s health programs in Bolivia to provide health education, and serve as a complement to the construction of community clinics throughout rural Bolivia. A nursing-focused conference took place on November 6th and 7th in Cochabamba, and a doctor-focused conference followed on November 8-10.

Work on Mano a Mano Airport Continues

A few airport progress pictures from the past week (and a video below from a few weeks before that in October):

Distributing Supplies & Equipment for 20 Bolivian Health Centers – November 15th, 2024

Mano a Mano is preparing donated medical supplies, mobility equipment, and other items at our Cochabamba warehouse for distribution to 20 Bolivian health centers today! All of these supplies were shipped from Minnesota, where they were destined for the landfill; instead they will be put to good use by organizations and people throughout the country. So far in 2024, Mano a Mano has shipped 7 containers with 182,317 pounds of donated medical supplies, mobility equipment, and other in-demand items from Minnesota to Bolivia (with another shipment planned before the end of the year).

November 21st is Give to the Max Day in Minnesota (Mano a Mano GiveMN Link Below)

“Give to the Max is a statewide outpouring of support for thousands of nonprofits and schools across Minnesota! Our Giving Holiday is scheduled for Thursday, November 21, but you don’t have to wait to support the causes that mean the most to you. Early Giving started November 1, so search GiveMN.org for your favorite nonprofits and schools and make a gift!”

MINN Conference

Our Executive Director Nate Knatterud-Hubinger participated on a panel at last week’s MINN (Minnesota International NGO Network) conference at the University of Minnesota on “Leading Global Change: Insights from Minnesota’s International NGO Leaders.”
