Mano a Mano formally dedicated a new clinic in the community of Villa Nueva on December 6th! Villa Nueva joins our network of 178 clinic projects in Bolivia, which had 559,439 patient visits in the first half of 2022. Every Mano a Mano project is a partnership: thank you to our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Bolivia, who oversees the process of building clinics from start to finish; the local community of Villa Nueva and municipal government of Villa Tunari that were involved throughout the process; and the US funders that provided the seed money that made this project possible!

Mano a Mano’s projects are a partnership.

Villa Nueva, Bolivia is located in the municipality of Villa Tunari, province of Chapare, department of Cochabamba. The community has a population of 2,800 and is a 5-hour drive from Cochabamba. On December 6th, Mano a Mano Bolivia staff participated in the dedication of the clinic with the community and local leaders. Everyone in the community is happy to have a new, equipped clinic that will be able to provide access to quality health care.

The Villa Nueva clinic was dedicated on December 6th, 2022.

With Mano a Mano clinics, they become part of the Bolivian healthcare system and are the official provider for their catchment area, making them eligible for services and reimbursement through Health Ministry-funded programs. All staff salaries in Mano a Mano’s clinics are paid for by sources within Bolivia. Our clinic program’s approach is that health outcomes can be dramatically improved with simple yet effective interventions, beginning with the basic ability to consistently access quality services in their own communities.
