On Friday, July 28th, 2023 Mano a Mano dedicated a new health clinic in 20 de septiembre, Bolivia! On the same day, we also dedicated another clinic in nearby Santa Ana.
20 de septiembre
20 de septiembre is a community in the municipality of Punata, province of Punata, department of Cochabamba; it has a population of 2,270 and is located 35 miles southeast of the city of Cochabamba.
Construction began on January 16th, 2023 and was dedicated last week. This clinic has 3 doctor’s offices and 1 dentist’s office – larger than our typical Mano a Mano clinic because of the large population in the area.

Every Mano a Mano Project is a Partnership
Every Mano a Mano project is a partnership: thank you to our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Bolivia, who oversees the process of building clinics from start to finish; the local community of 20 de septiembre and municipal government of Punata that are involved throughout the process; and Rotary District 5580 and US funders that provided the seed money that make this project possible!
Improving Access to Healthcare
With Mano a Mano clinics, they become part of the Bolivian healthcare system and are the official provider for their catchment area, making them eligible for services and reimbursement through Health Ministry-funded programs. All staff salaries in Mano a Mano’s clinics are paid for by sources within Bolivia. Our clinic program’s approach is that health outcomes can be dramatically improved with simple yet effective interventions, beginning with the basic ability to consistently access quality services in their own communities.
