CVC-TC All Volunteer Event with Mano a Mano

Thank you to over 30 volunteers from the Corporate Volunteerism Council – Twin Cities for coming to Mano a Mano yesterday to help pack medical and school supplies to ship to Bolivia! Most of these supplies will be included in our upcoming shipment of 2 40-ft. containers in August. Stay tuned for details – we’ll need your help loading!

We packed 15 boxes of medical supplies valued at over $3,500, 33 boxes of school supplies, and prepared 20 wheelchairs for shipment. We had so much fun getting to know you all and are so grateful for all the great work you got done!

Why Your Time is Such a Big Help

We have had a lot of volunteers helping out at our St. Paul warehouse recently, and all of this organizing and packing is a HUGE NEED for Mano a Mano.

Volunteering with Mano a Mano helps reduce waste in the US and improve thousands of lives in Bolivia. Saving medical, education, and construction supplies from being thrown away in the US, your help allows us to ship these supplies to Bolivia where they can be put to good use. Upon their arrival these items are distributed to Mano a Mano’s clinics, schools, and other infrastructure projects to provide quality healthcare and services that save lives.

We also distribute supplies to other organizations (hospitals, nonprofits, jails) and individuals throughout Bolivia that work with persons in need, free-of-charge.

Every item that we are able to ship means one less thing we have to buy in Bolivia, allowing us to stretch our funding, complete more projects, and improve more lives. It also reduces domestic waste by preventing thousands of pounds of supplies from being discarded to US landfills.

But to make this distribution possible, our volunteers – YOU – in the US and Bolivia have a lot of work to do: picking up donations, sorting and packing supplies into categories, loading containers, arranging shipments and managing the process and paperwork through Customs, and organizing and distributing supplies in Bolivia.
