15 Photos from Mano a Mano’s 8th Annual Festival on July 23, 2017

On Sunday, July 23rd, Mano a Mano hosted our 8th annual festival – held for the first time at our office/warehouse in Saint Paul, Minnesota. We were excited to be able to show people firsthand how Minnesota surplus supplies transform lives in Bolivia (watch a YouTube video about the surplus program here), and to be able to spend time with many of the people here in Minnesota that help make this impact possible.

Gala attendees enjoy food and drinks.

Thank you to everyone that attended on Sunday! It was a fun and very successful day for Mano a Mano, and we are extremely grateful to everyone that is a part of us. Thanks to Rachelle Mazumdar of Style-Architects Weddings + Events and the many volunteers that organized and managed the festival, and thanks to the companies that took part: Fork In The Road Truck, Fire on the Bluff and Sunrise Flour Mill, Ultimate Events, Surdyk’s Catering, Gertens and Southview Design, and Gabriel Andrews Fingerstyle Guitar.

And thanks Sam Klein for taking photos! Sam spent many months with Mano a Mano in Bolivia last year (here is a link to his articles during his time in Bolivia); he and his family attended our event on Sunday during their road trip from Boston to Colorado this week.

From Minnesota to Bolivia: Distributing Donated Medical Supplies

Mano a Mano collects donated supplies in Minnesota and ships them to Bolivia, where they are distributed to people and organizations in need throughout the country.

Check out footage and interviews from our most recent large-scale distribution of supplies in October 2016 at the Mano a Mano warehouse in Cochabamba, Bolivia, when more than 90,000 pounds of supplies were given away:

The surplus program is the program that started Mano a Mano more than 22 years ago; with the dedicated support of hundreds of volunteers in both the US & Bolivia, we have collected and shipped millions of pounds of supplies since 1994.

With the success of Sunday’s event, we are planning to make another shipment of about 100,000 pounds of medical supplies on August 24-26.
