Mano a Mano’s 3 containers filled with 83,518 pounds of supplies and equipment (not including container weight) are on their way to Bolivia from our Minnesota warehouse! Most of these items were destined for the landfill in Minnesota; instead they get put to good use in Bolivia, where they are often unavailable or cost-prohibitive.

This is our first shipment of supplies and equipment in 2025. In 2024 our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Internacional in Cochabamba provided items to 408 institutions throughout Bolivia; these items included 4,462 pieces of mobility equipment and 394 wheelchairs, in addition to tens of thousands of pounds of medical supplies and other in-demand items. Supplies and equipment also support Mano a Mano’s work across 4 counterpart organizations in Bolivia, including our network of health clinics, physical therapy program, health education workshops, and more.

Mano a Mano shipped 7 containers with 182,317 pounds of supplies from Minnesota to Bolivia in 2024.

No wasted space! We make sure to maximize every inch of every container; shipping supplies is well worth it for its impact in Bolivia, but it also isn’t cheap. Thanks to the individual and organizational donors in the US that make every shipment possible.

…To Be Distributed to People & Organizations Throughout Bolivia

After many adjustments and improvements by Mano a Mano staff and PT interns, Joaquín C. received a wheelchair from Mano a Mano in January 2025. This wheelchair, and all of the equipment seen in the background, has been shipped from Minnesota over the past few years; in Bolivia, these items support Mano a Mano’s PT program. We provided personalized technical support, taking into account his requirements. He is 30 years old and has been participating in our physical rehabilitation program since 2023.
Some items go to individuals like Joaquín; other items are distributed to dozens of organizations that come to our Cochabamba warehouse from throughout Bolivia on large distribution days, like this one in mid-2024.
