Press Release: For Immediate Release

ST. PAUL, MN — Mano a Mano International Partners is proud to announce the appointment of Peg Thomas as its new Executive Director. Thomas succeeds Nate Knattrud-Hubinger Executive Director and Matt Hartnaft Interim in leading the Mano’s US and International efforts to create partnerships with Bolivian communities, and to improve health and increase their economic well-being.
Thomas brings years of dedicated service to Mano, having previously served as an Executive Director for many nonprofits and foundations in Twin Cities for her entire career. Her deep understanding of Mano a Mano’s unique model—which focuses on sustainable, community-driven projects like aviation hospitals to the Amazon basin communities, water reservoirs in the Andes, agricultural advances and medical education—positions her to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth.
“Peg has been a cornerstone in our community for years,” said Segundo Velasquez, Co-Founder. “Her passion for our extensive work in Bolivia and her proven track record of operational excellence make her the ideal leader to carry our vision forward.”
Under Thomas’s leadership, Mano a Mano plans to expand its rural projects in Bolivia while elevating it’s environmental impact in Minnesota where it have prevented more than 16 million tons of new and slightly used durable medical equipment and supplies from entering our local land fills. Acquiring a new hospital in Bolivia to create a continuum of care for those living in the Amazon basin, increasing the “aviation hospital” (jornadas) to small Amazon basin villages, and constructing an airport by hand will require that Mano strengthen its donor network to meet the increasing needs of the communities it serves.
