Yesterday more than 600 people showed up for a dedication and to help out on a small project that our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Nuevo Mundo did recently – to clear a channel that was blocking the Pucara river from 39 communities.

Mano a Mano used its heavy equipment to remove all the washed-down loose material that was blocking water access or “la toma” for communities downriver to irrigate their fields. Removing the wash down might have taken 20 years to clear; our staff in Bolivia said “ni en veinte anos no hubieran abierto” not even in 20 years could they have cleared it…
