Food and Farming Trip to Bolivia

In March 2014, Minnesota travelers participated in a ‘food and farming’ trip to Bolivia to learn about Mano a Mano’s new Center for Ecological Agriculture (CEA), as well as about traditional farming of crops such as quinoa.

Subsistence farmers from rural and peri-urban areas are learning practices at the CEA that will help conserve water and soil, for more productive harvests. The trip was sponsored by the Unity Church-Unitarian Mano a Mano Outreach Ministry Team.

As part of the trip, travelers visited rural communities in the department of Cochabamba, including Jironkota.
