Stories that fill our hearts! With pride and happiness, we celebrate the ‘graduation’ from Mano a Mano’s physical therapy/rehabilitation program for Abdiel! Abdiel reached the wonderful goal of walking independently, an achievement that seemed far away when he arrived in his mom’s arms 10 months ago.

On August 6th, we completed his last planned session, and now his new goal (speech therapy) can be pursued with greater freedom and independence. These steps were built session by session. They are the result of Abdiel’s courage, his family’s commitment, and the expert guidance of an extraordinary team. We give our applause and endless gratitude to those who made it possible: Noelia, Nataly, Melissa, Erika, Victoria, Pedro, Mishel, Teresa, Fabian, Jazmin, Hugo, and Andrea. An incredible team of physical therapists, interns, and volunteers whose dedication, patience, and caring are the driving force behind not only Abdiel’s achievements, but also those of many other children who advance in their therapies every day. Congratulations on this great milestone, Abdiel! And to the entire team, thank you for making these daily miracles possible! Physical Therapy Program

Since 1994, Mano a Mano’s Recovered Resources Program collects supplies and equipment destined for Minnesota landfills and ships them to Bolivia, where they are distributed to people and organizations in need. In recent years, we have established a comprehensive Physical Therapy Program in Bolivia; utilizing the specialized physical therapy, mobility, and orthopedic equipment sent from Minnesota and with a skilled technical staff, Mano a Mano provides physical therapy for primarily children onsite in Cochabamba and in-home visits for patient’s families. Students and interns from local universities are incorporated into the PT Program.
