El Porvenir School Year Starts with New Classrooms and Desks
Maya Hanna and Daniel Kaplan celebrate the life of their daughter Tamar by engaging friends and family across the country to contribute to the Vilaque Clinic and now to the expansion of El Porvenir school. Inspection of the school in October found bathrooms and classrooms that needed upgrades. The classrooms and facilities greet students for the beginning of the school year. The desks are delivered, and the children are studying. It is efforts like these that create amazing partnerships between the US and Bolivia, and provide education and well-being for Bolivian youth and their families.

Every Mano a Mano project is a partnership; thank you to our counterpart organization Mano a Mano Bolivia, who oversees the process of building schools from start to finish; the local community of El Porvenir and municipal government of Cliza that were involved throughout the process; and Tamar’s family and friends that provided the seed money that made this project possible! When Mano a Mano dedicates a clinic or school project, it is always fully furnished and equipped. Many of the furnishings are constructed by Mano a Mano Bolivia in their workshop in Cochabamba.
