Physical Therapy students from the Universidad Mayor de San Simón participated in workshops with Mano a Mano last week on mechanical therapy, orthotics and casts, and wheelchair fitting, providing an opportunity to expand their knowledge to better serve their future patients.

Mano a Mano Physical Therapy Program
Since 1994, Mano a Mano’s Recovered Resources Program collects supplies and equipment destined for Minnesota landfills and ships them to Bolivia, where they are distributed to people and organizations in need. In recent years, we have established a comprehensive Physical Therapy Program in Bolivia; utilizing the specialized physical therapy, mobility, and orthopedic equipment sent from Minnesota and with a skilled technical staff in Bolivia, Mano a Mano provides physical therapy for children in the Cochabamba area. In addition to onsite PT care, Mano a Mano also travels for home visits, and takes advantage of the PT program resources to integrate local students for internships, volunteering, and workshops.
